Work Resumes – Not in the Kitchen Though

Posted in San Antonio Kitchen Rennovation by Amy on August 8, 2010

It is summer in San Antonio.  For those of you that live here or have visted you know what that means… for the rest of you that means I wake up to 80 degrees with about 90% humidity, condensation clouding my single paned windows.  Over the course of the day the temperature nears, and sometimes exceeds, 100 degrees.  What does this mean for my kitchen project?  It means that even though the contractors are done, the kitchen is on hold until I can sand cabinet doors on the porch without worrying about heat exhaustion and paint cabinet doors with a hope of them drying.

In the meantime though I am going to work on some other projects around the house.  Last weekend my Mom (thanks so much Mom!) came to visit and helped me paint the guest room.  Talk about an exciting transformation.

Before:

Shortly after I moved in, ignore the mess on the bed

We painted the ceiling and walls and hung curtains.  I think it is super peaceful now and can’t wait to do my bedroom!

After:

The room is so much bigger and calmer feeling with the lighter color.
